MEMBERSHIP CARDS:

You have, or will have received your membership card and pocket calendar.

These cards will be your permanent card until or unless OEA decides to change the background or other reasons. No cards will be issued en mass in 2011. 

If you have any changes to your address, phone, name etc., please fill out the postcard that your membership card was attached to and send it to Carolyn Holladay in SUD.

Helping Hands Committee

The Helping Hands Committee was created to formulate a uniform policy to assist others, both dues members & fee payers within WWSA.  The criteria is listed below; currently please contact either your steward, Executive Board Member, or one of the officers if you know of someone who you think fits the criteria so that we can utilize the resources of this committee.

We have four categories for the Helping Hands Committee.  They are as follows with a detailed explanation of each category:

• Leave Without Pay – When a WWSA dues member exhausts ALL of his/her accumulated vacation, sick leave, paid personal time, and compensatory time, the individual is allowed to go on the designated Family Medical Leave Act, denoted as Leave Without Pay (LWOP) status.  At that time, the Helping Hands Committee will mail a greeting card with a check for $50.00 to assist them during this time of LWOP.

• Sick Leave – The person is off work for five (5) consecutive work days due to extended illness or personal injury leave.  The Helping Hands Committee will mail the person a greeting card to express our concern while they are recuperating.

• Retirement – The Helping Hands Committee is going to give each verifiable retiree, not just a resignation, but a mailed retirement card and gift check to the retiring individual as follows:

0 yrs.0 days to 4 yrs. 364 days  $5.00

5yrs. 0 days to 9 yrs. 364 days $10.00

10yrs. 0 days to 14 yrs. 364 days $15.00

15 yrs. 0 days to 19 yrs. 364 days $20.00

20 yrs. 0 days to 24 yrs. 364 days $25.00

25 yrs. 0 days to 29 yrs. 364 days $30.00

30 yrs. 0 days to 30 yrs. 364 days $31.00

31 yrs. 0 days to 31 yrs. 364 days $32.00

This increases $1.00 for every year of service after 30.  The determination is based on the employee’s date of hire to the date of retirement.  Service credit is determined by Weaver Employment and WWSA affiliation only

• Bereavement – This area will be a memorial gift in the name of the deceased individual.  The memorial gift will be for the employee and his/her extended family as follows:

Self, Spouse/Significant Other, Children (natural, step, half, adopted.), Parents (natural, step, adopted) and Siblings (natural, step, half and adopted.)

WWSA will donate $10.00 for a memorial gift for each individual person who fits the above categories in the deceased person’s name to Summit-Portage ARC.  ($5.00 will be designated for the long standing ARC Educational Fund and $5.00 will be designated for the newly created Advocacy Program)  Carolyn Holladay – 8676, will continue to compose this letter.             

The family will also receive a mailed sympathy card from the Helping Hands Committee.

Each region representative will send the respective cards to the WWSA members.  These members will contact the WWSA Treasurer if monies are needed to be distributed to WWSA members.
