A Fair Share Fee Payer is a person who is holding a bargaining unit position but does not want to be a member of the union. They, however, must pay the same dues as a member. Because they are not members, they can not vote on issues at meetings, although they may attend meetings. They are not entitled to representation in a dispute with management, nor may they file a grievance. Their dues are held out of their paychecks for 6 months, instead of over 12 months.

Because of the way their dues are handled, the only time that someone can become a Fair Share Fee Payer is in January.

Become a contributor by registering as a subscriber and then sending an email to wwsa_oea@yahoo.com requesting to become a contributor. You will then be able to create posts, although the administrator will need to approve them for others to be able to see them. Administration approval is to ensure that the content is appropriate and relevant to our membership.
